Friday Night Out - FAY Friday Night Out - FAY Oct 3rd 2014 - Dec 5th 2014

Time: 6:00PM to 9:30PM
Coordinator: Jill Langham

FNO is for children birth – 5th grade.

This is an opportunity for parents to re-connect with each other on Friday nights. Participate in a Small Group the weeks prior to the Friday Night Out date desired to receive a voucher for childcare. Childcare is provided to individuals with children fifth grade or younger between the hours of 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Follow the instructions on your voucher to register your children. Registrations must be in by midnight the Wednesday prior. Sorry, no exceptions to the rules!

With the rising costs associated with this ministry we have made the decision to charge a very small fee to reduce cost overages. This new fee will be $10 for the entire evening, per family, whether you have one child or multiple children. This means for $10 your family receives childcare from 6:00-9:30 p.m.

It is our desire to be the very best stewards we can with what God has given to us. This change will allow us to continue to offer this great opportunity to small group participants while still offering an incredible value when compared to the childcare alternatives out there today.

If you have any questions prior to registering, please email Jill Langham at the Fayetteville Campus.

Donate NowHelping the Hungry of NWA and The World!

World Hunger Statistics

  • 1.02 billion people in the world do not have enough to eat. This means one sixth of humanity is undernourished. (FAO, 2009)
  • Hunger and malnutrition are still the number one risks to health worldwide. (World Food Programme)
  • Every day, almost 16,000 children die from hunger-related causes - that’s one child every 5 seconds. (Bread for the World)
  • In 2008, nearly 3 million children died before they reached their fifth birthday due directly or indirectly to hunger and malnutrition. (Bread for the World)
  • It is estimated that 684,000 child deaths worldwide could be prevented by increasing access to vitamin A and zinc. (World Food Programme, 2007)

Domestic Hunger Statistics

  • 49 million Americans struggle with hunger, including 17 million children. That means 1 in 6 people do not get enough food to be healthy. (Feeding America)
  • An estimated 35% of poor families in the U.S. are forced to choose between buying food and paying their rent or mortgage.
  • Nearly half of all families headed by a single mother are food insecure.
  • In our nation’s cities, 1 in every 4 people in a soup kitchen line is a child.
  • The cost of a meal at a Southern Baptist hunger ministry averages 30 cents per meal. (NAMB Report - PDF, 2011)

Compassion Center

Our pantry at this time is as low as I have ever seen it as we know the hunger issues in NWA continue to grow. In the last two months the Compassion Center has given away food that has fed 942 individuals. At that pace we could see as many as 5000+ individuals being served by CCNWA this year alone.

You may donate online or at a kiosk located on your campus!

The food pantry team at the Compassion Center asks that food past its edible date is not food we feel good about giving away so the newer the better.

You can drop these food items off at any of our 5 Cross Church campuses:
  • Children: Canned Spaghetti O's, Canned Ravioli, Spaghetti Pasta.
  • Students: Canned Chicken, Canned Tuna, Spaghetti Sauce
  • Young Adults: Peanut Butter, Cereal, Canned Corn, Green Beans, or Soup
  • Adults & Senior Adults: Dry Beans, Rice, Pasta
