- Compassion Center – ESL had 4 participants and Diabetes Awareness Seminar had 4 participants, and 49 volunteers last week at the Compassion Center.

- Dominican Republic Mission Team – 208 Professions of Faith

- Esther’s House – held annual Christmas program with 5 village Headmen, a representative of the District Social Welfare Office, one of our Necheu Police officers and our traditional Authority Chief Kwataine attending. Enrolled 4 new widows. Gave out new blankets to each child and orphan. Received a donation to purchase fertilizer for the maize gardens.

- Haiti Mission Journey to Joy House left Friday, Jan 20th, they had 300attended service on Sunday, prayer walked yesterday, inventoried wedding supplies, and worked on the septic tank. Today they will start classes.

General Missions

- IMPACT – 3 new volunteers

- Faith Riders – met with leaders of 20 different motorcycle groups to plan events for 2012. In discussions with Arkansas Naturals to raise funds for Restoration Village.

- Jail Ministry – 21 baptisms – During the preparation for baptism, Chaplain Lee led a detainee to pray and receive Jesus. After his salvation he told a story. The detainee said, “I have a 12 year old and a 14 year old. Before I came to jail, I used to take them to church and wait on them and take them home. One day they told me they asked Jesus in their heart. Then, nearly every day they begged me to love Jesus. Dad why can’t you love Jesus like we do? Then, my boys told me how things had changed at school since they got saved.” Tonight, the detainee read the Bible for the first time. He was baptized, and oh yes, he called his boys and told them his salvation story!

Parents, we are now offering Awana for your children, 3 years old-5th grade! Awana meets weekly on Wednesday nights and is an organization that helps churches and parents raise children and youth to know, love and serve Christ. Awana is the only organization with fully integrated evangelism and discipleship program for children. Your child will be a part of weekly programs and special events that introduce children to Jesus Christ and build a biblical foundation for faith.

- Compassion Center – continuing to receive donations with a large donation from one family (home full of furniture, bedding, linens, housewares, etc.). A change counter/cash counter machine was donated which will cut down on the processing time in closing each day. Had 54 volunteers last week.

- Finalized partnership with His Way Fellowship in Gateway, AR

- Dominican Republic Mission Team – reports 70 Professions of Faith so far…..

- Jose Velasquez – we were able to establish three Bible Study meetings in different homes of members. Glory to God! Last week we had 4 persons converted to Jesus and reconciled, and we visited 15 people; even though they didn’t make a decision for Jesus, we are still working with them until God takes their hearts. We also want to mention that Sunday School for kids is growing, last week we had 18 kids (please pray for more people who want to serve with the kids). We used to meet in the basement, however due to the electricity and heater not working in that area, the renter moved us to the main room which is bigger, (please pray for a permanent place to have our meetings), we are working on it already and waiting for an answer from the real estate person who is a Christian. Please prayer for the salvation and reconciliation of souls, leadership team of the congregation, a larger place to meet and provision for transportation.

General Missions

- IMPACT – relationships are being built, one of the IMPACT leaders was asked to attend a private birthday party by one of the families who attend IMPACT.

- Faith Riders – held their yearly planning meeting to plan out their rides for this 2012, 23 riders attended, including a new couple. Faith Riders are planning a “Send Me” trip to Denver, Colorado.

- Andy Goode and two other Cross Church members shared the gospel at the NWA Mall, with a 20 year male, who made a Profession of Faith.

C.A.R.E. Clinic

Additionally, we offer an array of professional counseling through the care clinic of John Brown University.
While everyone has problems, most of them are successfully resolved without the help of outside resources. There are times, however, when a problem comes along that becomes too much for an individual or family to handle on their own. In these instances, people sometimes seek help from counselors or other professionals to help them work through a difficult situation or a particular problem. To help with the counseling needs of our members and those in the community, we have partnered with the CARE Clinics to provide Christian counseling services at our church campus. The CARE Clinics, which are part of the Graduate Counseling Department at John Brown University, offer a variety of counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults. Services are offered by licensed counselors and graduate counseling interns who are in the final stages of their counseling program. Services focus on treating a variety of issues, including but not limited to:

• relationship problems
• depression
• anxiety
• grief and loss
• addictive disorders
• anger management
• stress management
• attention-deficit and disruptive behavior disorders
• sexual and physical abuse
• divorce recovery
• and other life adjustment issues.

- Marshallese Cross Church – celebrated the New Year with 103 in attendance.

- Brandon Shields – (Soma Church – Indianapolis) – “Family successfully moved, wife made a new friend, kids are doing great and adjusting well. We have already had an opportunity to meet with 10 people in our community, both believers and non believers. One couple is interested in starting a Bible study in our home next month. We have one couple committed to relocating with us this Spring, and two more strongly considering it. Please keep our family in your prayers.”

General Missions

- 10:55 Service – over 69 in attendance with one couple joining the church.

- IMPACT – Wayne and Kim (Apartment Managers) at one of our IMPACT locations, brought their 3 children and attended Cross Church Springdale on Sunday. Jeff (Head of Maintenance) at another IMPACT location attended 10:55 Service yesterday with his wife. McKee Baking will be donating Little Debbie snacks once a month to the Cross Compassion/IMPACT Ministries.

- Jail Ministry – 9 baptisms

Fit 4 Christ is a fitness class for men and women at our Fayetteville campus. The class will mainly focus on Zumba fitness. This class is offered on Monday nights at 6:15 OR 7:30 and Thursdays at 7:30. The cost of the class includes one Monday night option and Thursday night as well. Childcare is provided for birth-5th grade.

All classes are now full and registration has closed.

We are starting Celebrate Recovery for students called The Landing. This is a FREE year round recovery program for any teenagers with a hurt, habit, or hang-up. The Landing helps teenagers travel the path to freedom, healing, and wholeness. We will meet each Thursday night- for ALL students!

Upcoming Winter F.N.O. dates

MOPS is a ministry that reaches out to moms in the community who share the same desire– to be the best moms they can be. The MOPS International theme for 2011 – 2012 is, “Momsense: Bold ~ Loving ~ Sensible.” Come meet new friends and experience God’s love. Open to all expecting moms, moms of young children, babies– Kindergarten. MOPS meets on the second Wednesday of each month. Cost is $30 for the entire year, and this will be collected by cash or check at the first meeting you attend. Cross Student Leadership is a leadership program designed with the student in mind. Our goal is to equip, motivate, enable and empower students for present and future leadership in their schools, teams, families, church and workplace. CSL is for any 6th through 12th grader who would like to participate. This is an ongoing study that meets each Sunday morning.
